Before he was 8, things were fine and dandy and he’s a happy adorable snotrag!

He isin’t treated any differently and if he is, he’s too young to notice at the time.

He’s 10. He’s talented at creating animation…

Not trying to discredit his experience, as obviously some of these things appear to be quite obviously associate with race and I have no idea why on Earth they would be okay, ever. (Mainly the science project thing, what the fuck.)

But I wonder how much of this isn’t just because he’s smart.

I’m a white female and who KNOWS how many times my parents got called into the school for me “cheating” when I did no such thing. I even got suspended once for studying in the hallway in between my classes. Literally.

Teacher’s don’t like smart kids most of the time. As odd as that may be. 

tl;dr: Not to discredit his experience but here let me just discredit his experience for you real quick.

This is what I’m talking about right here.

Someone is talking about their experience with racism, and then someone else comes along who has not experienced racism, has no way of knowing what it’s like and “talks over” the other person who has actually experienced it. 

Leave it to the people who actually experience racism to talk about what is racist.

It’s not ‘our’ place as white people to talk about what is and what isn’t racism.
